Introduction

Lots of people talk about it…you know…quitting their jobs so they can travel the world. We are two people that pulled the trigger. Some people think we’re crazy. They may be right. But we believe the words of St. Augustine still ring true today:

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.”

There are many impetuses behind our decision to embark upon a “world tour” of sorts: to see more of our planet; to reconnect with friends and family, and to meet new people; to augment and broaden our worldview; to expand the boundaries of our experience, etc. Pushing the pause button on “normal” life wasn’t an easy decision. But we want to live without regrets and sometimes that requires choosing the path less traveled (or more traveled, in this case).

Neither one of us have ever blogged before. In fact, both of us have reservations about sharing our experiences and thoughts in the digital world. But one of the goals of this trip is to challenge ourselves to do things we wouldn’t normally do. In that spirit then, and also at the request of our friends and family, we have decided to give this travel blog thing a whirl.
